At least in here we are safe from those rough boys with their defenders and such...
Excellent.Picking up my Freelander2 tonight, given my previous transport was a leaky Corsa shed, There will no doubt be lots of silly questions and possibly a picture to follow
Excellent.
We like to see pictures, if you can make the silly forum accept them, which I can't.

2 weeks in, and I think Ive got my head round most of the gadgets, tried to work out how to add the DAB bits and pieces but I think Ive given up on that now. Found a front tyre was badly worn on the outside edge which I didnt notice when I bought it, but managed to find an an unused spare on ebay so that and my spare have gone on, and Im considering £45 to be a lucky escape... Onwards!
Yes, thats why Ive now got a matched pair on the front…Read the threads about mis-matched tyres…!

Got 2 allloy spares. You need to remember that the steel spare is smaller in diameter than the normal tyres, so will cause wear to the Haldex clutch pack, or damage the PTU and or rear diff if used for any length of time over an emergency, especially with 2 fitted on the same axle.
All those items will cost more to replace than a full set of premium tyres.
If the spares are alloys, with the correct size tyres, then ignore what I said above.
Its a 2010 xs with the posh stereo. Had a look behind the panels in the back where the DAB module goes and no module or wiring for it, no signal booster on the shark fin dodad either. Not sure what an SDD is so Im assuming I dont have one. What model FL2 is it?
Do you have JLR SDD to update the firmware?
An XS will have the Mid Line 9 speaker system. Its a 2010 xs with the posh stereo. Had a look behind the panels in the back where the DAB module goes and no module or wiring for it, no signal booster on the shark fin dodad either. Not sure what an SDD is so Im assuming I dont have one.
You have confirmed my googling, and added a couple of extras. thanks for that. Parrot type of thing is looking favourite..An XS will have the Mid Line 9 speaker system.
You'll need quite a bit to make DAB work then. You'll need the receiver which clips to the glass. The receiver will need power and feeds a signal to the DAB module. The DAB module itself will need to be wired in to power and the MOST ring too.
The whole system will then need to be configured using a suitable diagnostic and programming device like the GAP IID or JLR SDD.
It's possible to install DAB, but not straightforward.

I work on the basis that if it passed the test, then its good to the next one.Got an MOT today with just and advisory on front pads, and apparently the discs are pitted. I cant tell you how great this is after the last few years of trying to get an MOT on a succession of absolute sheds...
