Thank you for accepting me. I live on a remote Island off Tasmania (Flinders Island ). I currently have a D1 1999 3.9 which I bought new,,a1999TD5 which I am restoring, a HSE Range Rover and a Mini Cooper S. .I have owned a number of RR's and Discos and raced minis in Historic racing and Triumph TR8 in Targa Tasmania. I struggle with the TD5 electronics on my current restoration but hope to be able to contribute in other areas.

Also trying to remember as wasn’t there a carb version and an injection TR8

Don’t know if it was the same year being the silver jubilee 1977 , as the heat wave was 1976 something about British layland stricken forcing rover to finish building them, ie some press TR8’s were supposed to be very rare fetching 50k +

I’m more than likely way off the mark , also remember seeing plenty at the Bromley pageant show

Many thks and blessing that I assume the chassis stays rust free being in a very hot country

Look forward seeing other piccies plse , many thks

Understand where ur coming from with regards to electronics, have a D3 and was really put off with the amount of modules etc that it had, but over time with help from the forum slowly started to understand more as time went by

Felt having things like a multimeter , diagnostics , test equipment , test lights and breaker box seriously helped

Thanks gstuart we have the same rust issues living on the beach. Firewall, footwells, etc. Have most of the diag.gear. TR8 started as a TR7 and we transplanted 4.6 L RR engine with Rover SD1 gearbox, pressurized system for fuel, oil, coolant, volvo disks and haltec EMS. Very fast car with lots of torque. Always placed in Targa Tasmania.

Thanks gstuart D1 and TR8.Cheers.
