Good afternoon all.

New member here with a newly purchased 12 year old, white Freelander 2. The car is a pavement princess and judging by the condition i guess the worst its had to endure were carboot sales on playing fields. Never owned a 4x4 before in my 53 years on this planet or had any interest in green laning but hey i'll give most things a go atleast once.

Just thought, technically i have owned a 4x4 previously but that was a boosted Calibra turbo in my boy racer days. I must add that was the only car i ever had bouncing on the rev limiter in 6th gear flat out.

Just need to replace the tyres with something which make me look like i know what im doing atleast .;)

Looks nice.
Not been tinkered with too much

Nothing. Everything is bog standard. The only thing i've done is wash it and apply several coats of polish to the bodywork to get the protection up. Even the aircon is icy and uncomfortably cold.

One thing which bugged me was the lack of spare wheel. I bought one from Ebay for £59 with tyre so not gonna break the bank but i did also have to get a bottle jack as it dont have that also. I have a 21mm deep socket on order because the telescopic one i've always had is only 19mm so too small.

I've been plagued with punctures my entire life with push bikes, motorbikes, cars, lorries, vans so im just waiting for the inevitable.

Get a 27mm adjustable ratchet spanner for the oil filter too :)

I do have one but i dont plan on doing any servicing. ;) When i was younger i was a bit of a tool monkey and would try to do as much as possible myself but at 53 with declining health, i just cant be bothered.
That's fair enough 😂 I've spent the last two Saturdays under mine and now I'm heading out to spend time in a pub garden.
