Hi
My name is Dales.

Im from North Lanarkshire.

Bought my first discovery at the beginning of the week.

Its a 300tdi on P reg. its an old one but it will do for what I want it for.

Iv bought the Discovery as my second car really,

Appologise now but Im BMW through and through lol. :)

Anyway.

As Iv said I bought the Discovery at the beginning of the week,

Iv always liked the look of the Discovery and even though Iv heard a lot of both good and bad opinions on them I thought I would go by my own opinion and buy one.

Its for a bit of off roading mainly and for when the winter comes around again.

Used an old Fourtrak for a bit of off roading last year and to get me through the winter when I needed it. just hoping that the Disco is as good as that was.

Again I will be honest and say I looked through a few landrover forums etc and well this looked like the best forum for me to join.

So hopefully Im welcome.

Back to the Disco.

Iv noticed in the short distance I have drove it that the suspension is very soft on them, they tend to lean a lot etc.

Is their any point in maybe trying to get a set of stiffer uprated springs.

Any feedback on the springs would be appreciated,

Cheers

Would just like to say Iv been looking through some of the posts and all the members are very helpfull to each other.

Plus a bit of good banter between each other.

Cheers for the welcomes

As you have said Rebelrob.

Most members seem to know their stuff.

Partly the reason why I wanted to join.

Mostly though cause everyone seems friendly enough.

Thats what makes a good forum as well as all the members willing to help each other out with info.

As I said when I joined.
I looked at a few different land rover sites and this was without a doubt in my opinion the best one for me.

Like I said Im new to the Discovery. So looking through the threads gives me some idea`s of what to expect.

If Im honest, I havent even drove my Discovery more than half a mile yet :).

Even though I bought it with a full m.o.t it isnt taxed yet and the insurance dosnt start till end of Febuary, just in time to tax it.

Wondering if I have made the right decision though as according to the weather man we are suppose to get artic weather coming in over this weekend, snow already here and it would freeze the b**ls off you. luckily the snow isnae lying though,

But if it does Im up sh*t creek as the Beemer doesnt want to know.

Im just hoping I like the Disco. sure I will though.

But again thanks to everyone who has welcomed me

Cheers

Welcome!

I know absolutely nothing bout disco's, i do know you can get temperary insurance if you need it if the snow sticks.

Dont realy need temp insurance as its not taxed either.
Still getting it sorted, not sure if its needing the head done on it or not, hoping I dont anyway.

Hoping the thermostat is just knackered. but with the luck I have it will need the head done.

So Im in no rush to get it insured any earlier than the end of the month when I need to tax it.

Im from Wishaw, what about yourself ?
