Hi everyone,

We took delivery of a late 2004 plate TD4 HSE in March last year. When we got her the sat nav wasn't working (which wasn't a major problem) but now, after nearly 18 months, we need it to work and I can't do it!!!

Disc is in OK.

Allows you to entre a destination.

Tells you that the route is being calculated.

The little "CD" icon flashes.

and then.............

NOTHING!!!!!!

Pressed the button that tells you how many satellites are tracking you and it says NONE.

I have tried the MASTER RESET where you hold down "buttons 1 and 3 and the TP button" but still nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have an idea as to how I can bring this system to life? The system is the one that's intergrated into the radio head unit; I think someone refered to it as the "Old Beco system??"

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

SI

I have the same problem but mine sometimes works.

It was suggested to me that all the connections up to the GPS reciever are checked. If you didnt know, the reciever is the little bulbous bit at the base of the arial on the roof.

I have not been able to find a solution but I was a little suprised to find the other day, my GPS system giving me up top date navigation information even though it was showing no satellites being tracked. Figure that one out!

Sorry, I have not helped much but at least you can feel like your not alone anymore.

The Becker sat nav in the TD4 HSE (also in Disco 2 HSE) is crap. I wasted £70 on an update disc that was no different to the original one supplied. For £120 I'd suggest going out and buying a Tom Tom 1 3rd edition... it will take you right to the door.

Why not save ££££'s by buying a good euro road atlas. Mine cost just £9.99 and has city street plans, campsites and places of interest among other usefull info. You can then have fun finding your way and with the money you save buy a selection of fine beers to drink whilst planning your route !

Had same problem. Remove interior light pod under aerial. Undid screw holding aerial assemble together. Dried out connectors on base of aerial. Re-assembled and hey-presto! Sat Nav back to normal.

Hi everyone,

Exactly same problem suddenly occurred. Took everything apart and cleaned/checked. Still not working, looked at sat navs in Halfords but could not decide which so did not buy.
Week later it suddenly woke up from winter hibernation and been perfect ever since.
Would be nice to know where the problem is.
