Hi All

Finally bitten the bullet and after many months searching I have purchased a 90 SWB 300TDi.

It's quite up together as had a restoration of sorts but plenty I still want to do to it. Going to start with easy bolt on bits while I build up some experience.
Planning on:
Winch bumper & winch
Roof rack - sloping one?
Nas rear bumper with tow bar.
External roll cage at later date.
Some seats for the rear.

Based in West Sussex and keen to meet other defender owners to share ( well, extract knowledge to start with) and enjoy some off roading as a group.

Pleased to hear off others who welcome a newbie.

BTW - I'm not the blond in the picture!

Looks to tidy to have a winch stuck on the front of it. I'd start with a Skytag or similar before you put to much bling on it

Yes, will be looking at a tracker but for time being it is boxed in between cars but nothing is 100% safe. The bling is all practical stuff for me as I venture to france quite a lot and need towing and storage and have got stuck before in my previous more modern 4x4 with no winch. I take your point though about it getting robbed as that would be typical. Is the Skytag the preferred tool for you guys.

They got mine back.

I'm toying with the idea of a tirfor winch as sometimes it's better to get winched backwards away from the problem than forwards and further into it

Just researched Skytag and seen your response so will be ordering asap. Anyone know of an installer for these in West Sussex area as would prefer someone who knows what they are doing to fit properly.

Makes sense about winching backwards - will have a look at what you suggest, thanks for the helpful advice on the tracker as well.
