Hi, I've registered to get as much info about Discovery as I can. Was in TA and worked on plenty of Land Rovers and used to know quite a lot about them.
Family took over but I carried on with old Trials bikes (still got one)
Kids now in Oz, Wife & I to follow (almost @ retirement age but not going to)
Reckon ideal vehicle in Oz would be Discovery TD5. Would like info on what to look for when buying one and costs to run (fuel consumption in particular)
I am a time served mechanic but no longer doing it for a living - like the idea of Discovery because it can be fixed.
Thanks in advance for your help :)

we are setting off for Oz in January, where are you going?

for ease of repairs an earlier 200 or 300 tdi would be ideal but most will have tin worm by now. check boot floor, wheelarches etc, fuel consumption between 25 and 30 mpg, depending how you drive. good luck and welcome

Back on Forum, actually forgot i'd been on!

Renewed interest because I've found out it's a good idea to take our own UK spec Caravan
