Defenders are tough vehicles - although for side impacts, rock sliders are a must. If you want to protext against frontal offset impacts, you might want to also fit a HD bumper. newer defenders are harder to roll in terms of cornering, but in crashes they tend to end up more on their side than on their roof. However, roll cage or half roll cage might be wanted. Most of the incidents i have herd of with a defender involved (high or low speed) have often left the other driver worse off. The LR driver genrerally has minor injuries such as bruises. The biggest thing to get over is the mental impact of the accident. if you get rock sliders, I wouldnt worry about a thing. Enjoy it!
