Hello range rover men

Thought you all would like to see my new
LSE - niagara grey softdash - mint underneath
No rot at all - just needs bumpers painting
and seat heater fixed and will be fitting
H180 from kent cams for some extra grunt.

80000 miles - a delightful car - I feel very
very lucky to have it in my care.

Very nice, a word of warning though. Careful in case hotter cams don't knock the old bottom end out of the motor. :)

Looks lovely, I'd be interested to know what you paid for it, there's several on eblag for north of £10k.

+1 on the cam warning though, I wouldn't bother, it could lead to a domino effect of failures down through the engine and drive train, even though it's only got 80k on it.
I had my LSE for 11 years and never really felt the need for more power from the 4.2.

I would leave it stock, Classic LSE's have nothing left to prove - if you want a 'Q' car there are better alternatives.

+1 don't fix what isn't broken, it looks great to me

Very nice, miss mine which I had for eight years. The extra space is wonderful. Still have a couple of rear doors (black) and some bits. Its one of the problems with the car the hinges are not up to people leaning on the doors. The rear doors are heavy as they are longer on an LSE sag and tend to rot underneath so some protection sprayed on could be a good idea. Good luck.

Thanks for all the positives about the LSE boys - and the advice about the camshaft.

I am aware of the potential pitfalls of putting up-rated cams into well-used engines - rattling shells etc - a bit like just changing one head gasket.

We have just done a full mechanical overhaul on a customer's LSE

FULL engine rebuild together with a new Ashcroft gearbox, re-cored rad, new air suspension, new brakes etc. All in all he has spent nearly 6 grand on it - but worth it as the car was lovely - but very high miles and mechanically tired.

The body is mint as is the chassis - waxoyled from new - he is having a new headlining fitted next week and it should be good for another 180k.

We put the H180 in - my cam of choice for any RV8 road car with autobox - it goes like a scalded cat.

If I do my cam/tornado/exhaust etc I will strip it down and rebuild.

As for what I paid for mine - I promised the owner I would not tell - but I have already been offered a nice profit just for flipping it - but I won't - it is a keeper.

here are my other little wee beasties - the one on the right will be of more interest to you range rover lads i suspect - even if it does have a bentley badge on it.(not guilty - and it will be coming off)

I like the idea of the camshaft, I know I shouldn't but I have always updated these and gained extra power, I tend to go for torque and have updated quite a few of my cars (always rebuilt the bottom end as well as the rest) . A lot depands on how you drive a car. If you have upgraded and use max power away from the lights you will break everything but if you drive in a way that can use the power when needed then Go For It!
Keep it and Enjoy

We have tried all of them - the kent H180 is best for an auto, H200 for a manual - both classed as sports torque.

The real steel Viper hurricane is also very good for both applications.

These are the only ones I would recommend for Road cars.

Comp safari engines we fit a kent 218 but use hi-stall converter for autos.
