Hi all, Im new to Series landy ownership and Landyzone!

Series 2a 2 1/4 diesel. Help please! My series 2a simply wont start. Appears that no fuel is getting to the injectors. She worked fine when I parked her up, but....

I fitted a new fuel lift pump, filter, glow plugs and resistor but to no result.

I have bled the system at the filter, and at the 2 side bleed screws on the injector pump, but nothing is coming out of the injector pipes apart from a drop of diesel.

Could it be that the injector vane is jammed?

The valves are turning so the timing chain seems to be intact.

Any ideas? Thanks, Kev.

Did you fit the pump, filter etc before or after it failed to start?

Anything else you changed or tinkered with?

Could be a blocked pick-up pipe in the tank?

Try rigging up a fuel gravity feed from a bottle to the injection pump and see if she runs

Thanks for replying, no it wouldnt start - hence new pump etc... Worked fine, parked up after 20 mile journey, next time she wouldnt start. The lift pump was knackered hence I fitted a new filter at the same time. Fuel is spurting out of the bleed screws on the injector pump, so no problem with the feed at the tank. Also bled at the filter. Its as if nothing is comming out of the top of the injector pump. Kev

Yeah!!!! After lots of hours she finally starts!!! Thanks to Sheaf Diesels in Sheffield for rebuilding the goosed injector pump. Thanks to previous owner for running her on chip oil :-(.
