I got my Freelander just two days ago and i cannot believe how much i love it already. i have found my baby.
i only passed my driving test a little over a year ago and have been driving around in a little focus till now.
Loving the new-found respect from bus drivers already. ha.:D
The courteous nod from fellow land rover drivers is quite endearing too. i feel like im in an exclusive club.
Looking down on little boy racers in their souped up little lawnmower :eek:puntos is a truly gratifying experience in itself.
However, i am but a mere woman and there is a very strong smell of petrol above the rear wheel arch below the petrol cap so im wondering if there might be a little leak, i cant actually see anything and it doesnt appear to be using excessive fuel but im still getting used to the car myself.
its a 1.8 petrol 52 plate.

WELCOME!

Not sure on the Freelander, but on our old Rover 214 S - the filler pipe was metal and a rusty hole appeared - had to source a replacement.:(

Have a look in the Freelander section, see if there's an answer to your question.

Oh and feel free to post pics too.

Welcome! :)

Filler cap seal could be perished / split, but as advice earlier check out the sections.
Overall enjoy ya Landy....its not a Fender but hey its got breeding still :)

Hi I know exactly how you feel, I was a fairly new driver when I got my freelander , mine is a 1.8 on an 01 plate. That feeling you get when ppl actually move out of your way for a change is great lol. I only recently took mine off road too and that is great fun if you get the chance. Enjoy your new car I know I am still very much enjoying mine :)
