Hi guys, just bought my first Range Rover. Have upgraded from a Civic Type R and is my first 4x4 so it's a big difference. It's an early L322 with the BMW 4.4 lump which I love the sound of. Not the fastest but I don't need that anymore. Got 2 kids who are getting bigger. Cycle to work so just needed a big comfy car for going out at weekends and I couldn't think of anything better suited.
Car has done 100k miles but is pretty tight. Known issues (so far) - oil leak, steering wonky, broken windscreen washer jets, damp boot. All fairly common and well covered problems. I wasn't scared off by the reliability fear mongering that goes with these cars and I hope I've made the right decision! Time will tell but at the moment I'm very happy with my purchase.

Nice selection of faults to pop up on the first day of ownership. ;)
Haha! I knew about the oil leak and steering when I bought it. Fairly used to opening 100k+ mile vehicles. Suspension bushes wear out. Rubber goes hard. Replace it and you have a new car!
I think I've found the source of my leak too! Hopefully a quick and free fix. Although I'll probably get a new tailgate seal anyway.

It will be like the forth bridge. It will need repaired and fettled everyday. But as soon as yer wake up you'll want to climb it again.

:)Love that analagy. It's certainly got under my skin already. It has a charm that other 4x4s or SUVs can't quite muster. I've owned a lot of cars and this one feels special.
