Hello everyone I am a jap 4x4 person usually but I'm debating switching to a defender!

I'm here to try and gain some knowledge to help me decide as in a couple months i will be purchasing another offroader.

Stick to Toyota. Land Rovers are for people with no prospect of enjoying life.

.

They won't be queuing up around here to try and talk you out of it:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:, except for perhaps them Gaylanderers:eek::eek::eek:

:welcome: to the mad house:D:D:tea:

Welcome!

Why a Defender - would a Discovery be a better step into the Landrover world?

(I'm presuming that Jap 4x4s have more creature comforts)

The simplicity is the main reason for a defender, my Pajero was really comfortable and with the independent front suspension the road handling was superb but that's not what I want anymore. It was a nightmare when it got wet and dirty inside and I want more space for gear in the back instead of seats.

Fair enough!
Don't completely close your eyes to a Disco - perhaps a commercial one with no sunroofs would suit.

Whichever you get enjoy!

Disco is unlikely when it comes to landys I'm defiantly a defender bloke lol

I've narrowed it down to defender 90, fourtrak or another SWB Pajero

If you want more space for gear instead of seats, what about a 110, best of both worlds;););););)

I think a 110 is overkill I only need to carry recovery stuff and things for offroading trips plus I always got the impression SWB are more capable offroad?

Is there another thread by the same OP about this or have i taken too much medication?

From the little I know, yes 90's are more capable off road, IF you take it to the absolute extreme, for general/normal offroading I don't think there's is much in the capability:confused::confused::confused:

Have a search though, it has been discussed before, I suppose it's what you want the Fender for at the end of the day;););)
