Hi, looking for suggestions, I have/about to buy a new wiring harness . to go on new chassis.
my car was originally dynamo, (all boxes are still in place),and had an alternator fitted with home made wiring. what are your thoughts .
Should i do original Dynamo or get a wiring harness with alternator .
?

Alternator is easier.

If you like original looks there is a company who make dynamos that perform like an alternator. Sorry can't remember the company.
 
Alternator, they replaced dynamos for a reason. Even the biggest dynamos (48A) struggle to keep a battery charged in winter and the voltage reg contacts will need regular cleaning, usually in the middle of nowhere in the dark.

What are you using for paint/epoxy and inside protection ?

Thanks, if you look at my other post you can see how it’s going, the chassis is from Richards, it is galvanised, so had to degrease, then washed and etched with mordant solution, primed, wax oiled, then hamerite top coat,
