hi there, I'm planning to change hand brake shoe set on my disco 1 manual, because the brake handle goes way up and no mor tensioning is possible. I'm talking of a 1998 300TDi Disco 1. Is there anything special I might have to be carfull about this job...? thanks for any sugestions

Busters guide shows the job on a defender but its the same on a disco
Guide even shows the right part numbers!

Thanks all - particularly BustersBus for the excellent post.

Waiting on the correct seal for the transfer box (the one I ordered is 3mm too wide to get in the hole) I noticed two extra pieces had fallen out of the handbrake assembly.

They're not in BusterBus's pictures so I guess they're unique to the TDi Disco.

Q: Does anyone know where they go? :
