I've purchased a new LR cam from ebay for £30 (4.0 lt V8). It is genuine and comes sealed in the original box. Its still available . I used a Britpart one a few years ago and need replacing after chewing up a follower. So new one going in at the weekend.
Just search for p38 camshaft and will come up.

Think it was more likely a follower made from cheese than a duff cam. Or incorrect fitting, lube and initialising of cam.

Shame they don't have the 4.6 - will be needing one shortly.

im sure im gonna need my cam doing to looks like il be doing head gaskets so mite as well do the cam its got a rattly lobe or follower in there

so was mine, lasted about 1500 miles,re did with a kent cam,job jobbed
