Well, injectors and fuel rail removed and cleaned. The difference is noticeable in the extreme!!!
Did you replace the sealing O rings on the injectors? I want to that job myself and would love the part numbers.

The saga continues...
Broke down today on way back from getting (2nd hand) fuel pump.
Got recovered home, swapped the pumps round and the bugger still won't start.
I saw the donor car running before the pump was removed.
Any ideas? I can hear the pump running and definitely getting fuel pressure..
Edit: Longbolt beat me to it.
Bit of topic But I always run my 1.8 with the top cover removed to allow a little more cooling to the leads, as long as you aren't splashing through a ford on your way home all is well
Got my hands dirty this morning - turns out the dizzy and rotor are shot.. I've cleaned them up and it's running really well at the moment, will get a new rotor and dizzy tomorrow...
THANKS EVERYONE!!
UPDATE - after replacement (2nd hand) fuel pump and new fuel filter, injectors cleaned out and a new dizzy/rotor the engine is running like a new one! I'm sure it's now running better than it has in the 3 years that I've owned the car..
