Yeah, its a VDO pump with a new Bearmach filter...
Is it possible to clean out the old one or just bite the bullet and get a LR filter?
Pump sounds normal to me, will whip it out in the morning and check o rings etc..

Well I popped the old filter back on after flushing it through with clean petrol and it's running fine, better than before actually (reason for replacement was apparent fuel starvation)..
might just leave it in for a bit and get a genuine part in the near future..

Ha ha, spoke too soon - running like a sick pig now, may have to have a look at the injectors...
Check the connections at the pump motor. I've seen them melted where they aren't fitting securely. Presumably these were disconnected when you did the filter change.
yeah, did it off the car.. Think I may just get a replacement pump with pre-installed filter and be done with it.
Car now lacks power, especially when the engine has warmed up and at the bottom of the rev range under load. Planting my right foot just makes it worse...
Would still be tempted to pull the injectors out and blast the injectors/injector rail with carb cleaner if you haven't already done so. I think its something you are going to need to do anyway just to be sure there is nothing in the line (usually like a black silt).
Yep - never had them off, looking on Rave it's quite easy..
Yea, it is quite easy. A couple of 8mm bolts and some fiddly clips on the injector loom (easy to lose!). No need to disconnect the fuel line. Take the injectors out carefully and spray the baskets upside down so the crap can fall out.
Be prepared that the carb cleaner will take the paint off the injector body
Best way to depressurise the system is to take the plug off the fuel cut of valve (by the vapour tank/far right right near the firewall) when the engine is running. The motor will then stop when the line is out of fuel. Use a tiny smear of clean oil on the injector rubbers when you put them back in the rail.
You may be in for a pleasant surprise when you have finished.

Well, injectors and fuel rail removed and cleaned. The difference is noticeable in the extreme!!! Cheers Longbolt.
Unfortunately, John Craddock have let me down on the pump, so sourcing one from another dealer, hopefully will be able to fit it on the weekend.
