Hi guys

Please can anyone tell me who sells decent made door hinges for a 1988 90, i was at the recent billing show and found a couple of different sets of front door hinges a cheap new BP set with loads of play in the hinge pins, and a new painted set with no play what so ever but as the hinges was on different stalls it was hard to decide if they was for my model as for some reason they looked bigger than the BP ones on the other stall and was £25 a pair.

I fitted a set of cheap BP ones just over a year ago and they have been fine so far. But there wasn't any play in the ones I received from them.

Only decent ones I've seen are Land Rover ones.

Britpart ones are shocking, as above loads of play out of the packet.

bp ones are ok, whip out the pins get em galved put pis back in nice and tight, i likes em tight.

After only 15-years my genuine ones recently gave up the ghost. :(
I had always regularly applied a spot of oil to the pins but recently they started to leave rust streaks and there was the start of some play on the OS door so I decided replacement was required.

Took a shine to the Optimill items when they came out and browsing around Billing this year found the Optimill stand who had a full range of goodies, they were giving a (slight) discount so decided to give them a go.
Spent 20-minutes fitting them at the weekend. Went on nicely and while they obviously don't have play, in the event that wear did occur they are rebuildable which is nice to know.
Decided to get a pair for the tailgate as well (well, it has to be done ;)).

I'm saving up for some of those, but might not get there before the door falls off completely!

I like the Optimill ones also, but the price puts me off a little
are the ones from SP4x4 no good ?

I'd be interested in knowing this too. i've got an order set up ready to with sp4x4, I've chose the later heavy duty hinges, but if there's something up with them it'd be good to know before I click buy :)
