Yeahhh they do.... in France MOT centres are not allowed to do any mechanical work on a car. That's their system so there is no benefit in them failing for work. An excellent system.I can see some unscrupulous garages pouring some oil down the side of the engine, then charging 200 euros to wipe it off again.
Those in charge just never think things through, do they.
You must be one of a few. My heaters are useless. Changed rad, heater matrix, several thermostats, fitted an electric Kenow fan, went back to a viscos fan, flushed it out and still the heaters are useless. Don't know how many times I have been underneath to fix oil leaks, seems to be fine for a couple of months then they are back. Think I will drain all the oils before taking it in for its MOT.Yeahhh they do.... in France MOT centres are not allowed to do any mechanical work on a car. PS I have a Defender, its never leaked oil (and yes it has oil in it), and the heater works.... am I the only one ?

New seals were fitted a while back and new door seals. Heaters are OK'ish when its down to around 3 or 4 degrees, but as soon as it goes down to zero its like a fart in the wind. I have fitted a 300 wat electric heater which helps and bought myself a new coat and gloves.Mine is fab dabby dozy as well, have you checked your flaps?
Cheers

Hope that don't catch on over here. Knowing the frogs, they'll be checking British cars coming off the ferry. Should've nuked em when we had the chance.

Once we were driving through Corsica with snow on the hills and we had our pants and socks spread out over the windscreen drying them and hung on the dog guard.... worked a treat.... a few embarrassing pics from others though.New seals were fitted a while back and new door seals. Nope, I stripped the heater box, cleaned it out, checked vents/flaps and cables worked correctly. Then resealed it with pop rivets. Made no difference what so ever. I had posted several threads on here a long time ago. I was told the 200 tdi's are cool running engines. I also tried blocking the airflow with linoleum over the rad, didn't make any difference. Oh, I also tried a Rad muff which also made no difference.LOL, I meant the flaps in the heater box, quite often they are not set correctly, so even if the lever is set to HOT, the internal flap in the heater box is still slightly cracked open.
