Hi Guys just bought a 01 plate td4 3 door.

Want to take it off roading, are there any mods that you guys would recommend?

I have previously owned an N reg range rover diesel and my family have had landrovers for 20 years.

Final question is there any point in putting either a piper cross or K&N filter.

Cheers Alex.

PS I am based in Rode nr Frome.

synergy2a ?
dph hoses ?

Now that looks like one off roaded Freelander !!

Im saving up for a few bits already on that list :D,

Would you say the 2inh lift is a good idea ive got mixed replys about it down here, "Causes more problems than Solves"

Alex

It's not caused me any probs! You have to do it properly tho, camber correction bolts are a must as is full four wheel alignment, plus you have to mod the inner wings for steering clearance. It's handling is pretty good, you can tell its lifted but it's still fun to drive. Off road it transforms it, I've now got more clearance than my d2!!

Ye ive seen a few on ebay. you said about a tank gaurd, ive seen exhaust and engine but not tank, is that something that would need to be fabricated?

Mantec used to do one! I'm planning to fabricate all of em:D it won't happen over night but its a winter project

SOunds good, id be tempted to do that with the front nudge, or A bar, there are plenty about but are very expensive, and are all chrome plated which is wrong on any proper landy in my book !!

I think ill have to get the welder out and practise as it more chicken **** than joins atm :(

I just got an alloy welding mig set. Had a steel one for years, so bit of practice 6mm ally plate and away we go;) hopefully! Worst case I'll tack it together and get a friend to tig it:D

Luckly I have a few mates who are rather good at welding so maybe able to get around the problem :)

I think I had better start saving got some things i need to buy :p

It's addictive! I've had discos and defenders tricked up before but I love the freebie, it's just fun, great to drive, comfortable and hilarious to chase "proper" land rovers around off road courses, they get the right hump cos its not normal! :D
