Just got Freelander back from garages and they fitted the newer door lock but the dash lights constantly say the door is open and the internal lights wont go out (now pulled the fuse) and the alarm wont go on but the doors at least lock.

Any idea how to fix this or should I just get them to put the old dodgy locking mech back in when they change the window regulator?

I would take it back to the garage and insist that they fix the problem with the new door lock or I would want a refund on the whole job.

Refitting the old dodgy lock is not a solution

plus 1 , get them to fix it as you've paid for the job to be done correctly

maybe there's an earth that's hasn't been reconnected correctly or a wire has been severed etc within the door

hope u get on ok

I'm thinking perhaps the 2nd hand door lock could be faulty since they said when they plugged that back in to check everyting worked?
So there is no easy fix except taking the door apart and changing the lock again then by the sounds of it.
Mind you it needs a new driver window mech soon as well so may get that done at the same time then.
