i'm gonna be fitting new discs and pads in the morning is there anything else i should replace as a matter of course while i'm doing the discs?
 
Hi, fraid I can't answer but I'm about to do mine soon... can you let meknow of any pitfalls ?

When I got mine done I replaced the caliper piston's anorl, last thing you need is a stiff/seized piston trashing the new disc's....

check your brake pipes for corrission !! did you buy the new pin set aswell

nope not picked the discs up yet collect them in the morning would it be advisable to?

gonna put new pipes on anyway been practicing from teflons how too :D

theres a possibility you could break one when removing them then your fooked !!:doh:
so i would say yes :D:D:D
 
Don't forget to grease the back of your pads and the new pins with copper slip or similiar else it'll sound like a rusty old transit when you brake....!
 
Oh and apparantely the discs are a bugger to get off the hub - someone said that if you bolt the hub back onto the wheel it gives you something to hold when you try to undo the bolts.....

:eek: it allready dose,got a tub of copper slip for the new stuff anyhow ;)

If they're really tight on there after some hammering andswearing, another tips was that you can put the hub and disc in the oven for a bit to heat it up - shouldn't do any damage to anything as long as the bearings and that are out.

Are you doing new wheel bearings too?

no,bearing's/swivel's and a caliper rebuild last august just before i bought off a mate of mine.

hmm i can see i'm gonna be using a few choice words tommorow now there the original discs.
 
Hey! I've got a rusty old transit and i sounds fine when i brake!!!!
It's just all the other times it sounds ****e!!
