So just picked up my 2003 D2. I'm a Defender man so o have some questions about D2s.
1. I have the Cassette deck with 6 disk changer and Harmon Kardin(sp?) Speakers. Is there anyway of fitting bluetooth/hands free to it? Keeping steering controls etc.

2. My key fob doesn't work, as in its smashed. Do LR do replacements, are they expensive?

3. Are there any other upgrades/updates anyone can recommend?

2. LR keys are expensive so get a second hand from fleebay or something
3. 2" lift with new springs and dampers, secure oil pump bolt, replace plastic dowels in head with metal, transfer diff lock lever, the list goes on.....

If the unit has an Aux input, you can use a Besign BK01 Bluetooth 4.1 Car Kit or similar from Amazon UK

I'll pull it out and have a look. I know there are systems that you can plug into the CD changer, I just don't know which ones will work.
 
Easy to change the stereo on these. They are a standard single din size and all the ones I’ve seen have standard iso wiring that will connect to any radio harness you buy.
The radio is plug and play
For the steering wheel controls you’ll need to buy a wiring harness, loads on eBay or somewhere like Halfords do them I think the lead is about £20.
I use connects 2 for steering wheel controls as there lead works with any brand of stereo.
you can’t keep the cd changer if you change the radio and if you have the controls in the boot that control the radio these will also no longer work.
you can also buy a little finisher for the radio but it isn’t necessary.

The issue is that I have the Haman Kardon system, so that restricts my options somewhat, from what I understand.
No no at all I’ve have the same system in my es discovery and have had a single din kenwood in there with Bluetooth and now have a touch screen double din pioneer.
The only issue I encountered is I had to lower the speaker level on each speaker (which can be done in the settings for the radio) as originally volume 1 sounded like volume 10.
This is my third td5 discovery and I’ve changed the radios in all of them and this has never caused an issue in any of them.

Its a lovely car to drive. I've been using mine back and to for work over the winter and I'm enjoying it immensely.
Auto is nice and I've fitted cruise control. Other than that I think its down to your own preference.
I like to keep mine simple and uncluttered with gadgets but then again its normally just a toy for green laning.
Mechanicals and chassis need looking after no matter what you do.
If the chassis over the rear end is good then I'd do something now to keep it that way by waxoyling inside and out thoroughly.

Twould be a great shame if you spent money getting your bluetooth to work only for the oil pump bolt to let go and ruin your day.
There is a whole list of stuff you need to ensure has been done to your Disco B4 trying to dress it up! I speak as one who has had one since 2014 and have slowly had to deal with almost all of them! Still got some to do.

AFAIK, both D2 and RR of the same MY use very similar CD auto changers, if not the same. Take a look at the Shine Bluetooth CD Changer on Amazon or the GROM BT3 CD on Ebay.
