The only problem with the chassis IMO is that it was not galvanised.That was the achilles heel of the old Defender
The new ones have over complex electronics. If they dumbed the systems down a bit it might inspire confidence that at some point in the next 10 years it isn't going to spend months at the dealership chasing a weird 'fault'
JLR have a poor reputation when it comes to electronics, it will be a surprise if the new Pretender is any more reliable than other JLR products. The fact that it can report faults direct to JLR will not be of much help if it packs up in the middle of the Gobi desert, what are they going to do, helicopter an engineer out to you
