Hi
replaced my clutch recently due to a thrust bearing failure. replaced spigot, clutch and pressure plates. replace the fork with a heavy duty one. I've only driven about 100 miles on the new clutch and today the clutch faded and eventually went to the floor without any pressure. the res is full and it seems no fluid loss. managed to get it home but I'm not sure what the problem could be. I did all the work properly when I replace the new components but the only thing that I forgot to install is the staple for retaining the thrust bearing.
Any one know if this could have caused the problem.

You definitely need to put the staple in when you change it, I didn't in mine and the bearing melted. Mine would only go down half way though so not sure if the same things happened to yours

Hi Guys

the master, slave. flexible hose and fluid were also changed but I'll need to check its working properly. The previous owner had not installed the staple which is probably why the bearing had failed (melted and ceased!) with no pressure on the pedal. Probably my new bearing may have failed and so its going to be GB out this time (i did it with engine out the last time).
Had a look at the staple and its made of plastic which wont last long!! is there a heavy duty metal version available? if not I'm tempted to make my own out of steel wire unless there is a good reason not to.
Any advice is appreciated?.
