Hi, looking for views/advice.

How much grief and additional cost might i expect to replace S3 88 chassis? Resigned to not being on the road for a while so time not a major problem - just cost and the likelihood of another "unfinished project for sale"

Background - in the middle of what started as a minor refurb....now with stripped down front end, all doors off, floor/seat box out, tank out, replaced floor wells/door pillars....and the itch to take remaining body off this weekend to allow me to get in to weld about half dozen patches on the chassis. Front dumb irons are jiggered and could take up a month of sundays and mondays at my work rate.

Now, looking down the back of the sofa, I think I can just about scrape together enough for a shiny new galv chassis.....I might have to work out how to get it delivered and into the garage without the wife knowing

I feel like Im talking myself into bashing the credit card number into Craddocks ..... and buying the £3 bunch of flowers for the Mrs, to head off the tongue lashing (not the good way).

Any encouragement or words of caution will be appreciated.

You see this was the sort of repsonse I expected....and if I'm honest I was hoping for :D. If you're already in the dog house may as well make if worth your while. Will let you know how the divorce goes.

based on having done quite a few - double whatever the chassis is costing, that's what your are likely to end up spending

it's never just a case of bolting things things back on
