Hi everyone, I just bought a M reg 3.9l v8 manual yesterday. It seems in good nik the only things i noticed when driving it home was that the gear leaver didn't go back to teh neutral position it stayed to the left directly behind first rather than 3rd gear, any ideas?

Search for Bias plate/spring, that's a possibility.

is most likely .upright part of plate breaks which is part that positions springs to hold stick in line with 3rd 4th,when replaced or welded adjust it has slotted holes with your gear stick on to account for its weight

Thanks fopr the advice boys, im going to get a chance to have a dig about in the car on the weekend so ill see if its that and its only a fiver. Cheers again
