Finished work today and now on my hols so said to the missus i best check your car over before we embark on our 300 mile journey back to the motherland (Yorkshire). To my amazement she said were not going in that we're taking the disco its more reliable!!  :D:D

German cars aren't what they used to be...

VW's/Audi's top my list of newer cars to avoid, despite my love for all things Audi lol!

And at least when LR's go wrong, they generally still get you home :D

Unless it's a v8 with all the leccy boxes and an intermittent crankshaft position sensor. 30 miles - stop - wait 2 hours - 30 miles - stop - wait 2 hours.....

Nothing showed up on diagnostics either. Argh... Very frustrating (and long) night that was.

Love me Landy's.

was reminded of this thread yesterday when I pulled out onto the main road in my VW, nice and leisurely like, no hurry, then BANG clunk clunk clunk as the driveshaft simply fell off. had to call my mate to fetch my disco to tow it home. trusty old steed, there when you need her.

trying to get the sheared bolts out of the gearbox flange this morning, the last one is proving a real bugger, had the gas axe on it, but its still chewing up my screw extractors :(
