Hi all, please help.....i have had a metalicy (is that a word?) noise from the right front wheel which i assumed would be the brake caliper loose... today the steering wheel is jumping about (vibrating) so i got round to looking today and the braakes are fine but there is lot's of oil where the hub is (where the circlip is around the nut) is it poss that my wheel bearing is gone or going ? and this could be the cause of the afore said problems ?????? please help, and if it's a yes are they easy to change ??

Easy way to check, go outside and jack the wheel up in the air, hold it at 3 and 9 o'clock positions and rock the wheel back and forth, if there's and movement the yes your bearings are on their way out. Try again at 6 and 12 o'clock if there's movement there the swivel bearings are on there way out

cheers guys i will check tomoz, i have seen the vids for the wheel bearings seems quite easy, is the swivel bearings as easy ??

Can be more messy as the swivel is full of runny grease and more time consuming if you also replace the seals on the chrome ball jobber

Wheel bearings tend to produce a growly rumbling sound rather than a "metalicy" one. If you are having/feeling sharp knocks that could be steering track rod end or all sorts. The tests mentioned above will help identify. Wheel nuts are all tight? Oil leak may or may not be associated with the noise.
