Morning,

Took the day off to start on a list of jobs,

Bought the WIPAC LED set to replace all me indicators,

Some however need their polarity changing,

Tried swapping of the wiring as suggested by using a crimping tool (I was crap to say the least),

Does anyone in the southwest who fancies £20 and a decent about of beer wish to help ?

I'm about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike when it comes to lektrickery but could have a look tomorrow if yer stuck

I suspect I have crap earth judging by the state of the current rear indicators,

All gunked up with mud,

Thanks for the link, no video, but sought them out on youtube,

If I'd know it was that easy I'd of done it my self,

that said the rear lights I have that are pre 98 wiring should work but dont,

Either way help would be appreciated

:):):):)

I must have bad earths somewhere, none of the new LED flashers work,

Brake lights and side lights work a treat, just not the flashers

Did you change the relay to a solid state relay or else fit ballasts?

I would put a multimeter on the wires from ya indicator to see what voltage your are getting if any, to eliminate the earths I would put the positive from cars indicator wire onto the multimeter and then link the negative on the multimeter back to battery earth( will tell you if the earth is bad)

Failing that if there is no voltage swap the relay back to see if it restores the voltage as it could be a faulty one. Not sure if they run through the hazard switch like my fender but that can sometimes burn out. Hope this helps :)

That sounds like a plan,

Shame I dont own a multimeter,

Might just take it down to Local auto electrical place (not halfords) to see what they think

I can pop round with a multimeter in the morning if you want..... I even have a vague idea how to use it

I thought they gave out multimeters and spanners with all landrovers ha ha.
Get ya hands on one and give it a go or alternatively use the old bulb holder and wires to check for power :) or use the led one just check it on the top of the battery first so you know it works

If you still need help I'm free tomorrow morning - PM me.
You can keep your beer, is there coffee?

Old flashers work, just all new ones dont, highly confused, followed the instructions for a change lol

Going to use the 1 I butchered to test stuff on lo
