Best advice is don't:rolleyes:
Water ingress into the left side rear quarter damaging the electronics is a common problem.
Keep a big wad of cash to one side for fixing the problems that will occur:eek:

I agree. Get a proper landy, a series. It dont go as fast and it aint comfortable. But its a damn site cheaper to run and you get noticed a lot more. My old 109 is a landmark now, when strangers to the area ask the postman for directions he says, if you go past the old landrover, youve gone too far.

Hunkt Canticie seems rather better value... 160,000 yuan ( £23,000) if you don't really need 4x4 capabilities.

I got good feedback when i was considering the 4.4 jag engine or the 4.2 s/c should only be a few pages back

No modern Range Rover is a good choice except as a hobby with a reliable car for every day use.
Need to budget for a good diagnostic tool and be prepared to read circuit diagrams:rolleyes:

2007, 8 and 9 are generally considered to be the best years because of the Ford/Jag engine. I'm surprised certain people don't recommend a horse and buggy as there are absolutely no electronics or electrics

Where I live, we may well end up with a pony & trap for the weekly shopping run:rolleyes:

For my sins I now have the 4.2sc engine and 4.4 jag engine both are pretty bomb proof the 4.4 jag engine is known to be the best of the bunch......iv also got the 4.4 bmw m62 engine good in its day currently on its 2nd rebuild
The trouble with V8s is nothing else will do.

As long as you can afford it, you will love it. Make sure brake lines are done or get ready to do them.
