Today i was driving my Rangie and just thought of checking how much of an average mile im getting on the current fuel and thus i pressed the INFORMATION button just right underneath the SPEED LIMIT button, well it doesnt work, all of a sudden. It was just 20 mins before setting from home and it was working fine. Well i kept trying and still no luck, lateron, i made my stop at my destination and after 1/2hr i returned to my car, pressed the button and it worked, and 5 mins later same problem, i mean its just stupid, it works sometimes and then it doesnt. Came home, switched off the car and after 5 mins switched on the car and tried it again and it didnt work. Its all of a sudden that im getting this problem, the button responds sometimes. And all this started today.

ANY IDEA GUYS.. Appreciate your help...

Give it a good pumping and use it more....I use mine every time I go out;) ;) ;) ;)

The Mad Hat Man - What did you do with it. Its just annoying, it was working perfectly all this time and today im having this ****ty problem. Why is it that Rangies are all cursed. Why cant we have a single one without any problem, why why why...

Welcome to owning a Range Rover, they say, well, Ive heard they say, the first three months of ownership will either make you fall in love with it or break your heart, wallet and marriage. 2+ years down the line guess I made it through the first 3 months with my head in the sand!

About your problem, it just sounds like the button is broken, making an intermittent contact. You can find new indicator stalks on eBay for not that much or I think you can actually dismantle the existing stalk as it has screws on the back and give it a good clean inside. I seriously doubt its anything worse than a dirty contact if its working sporadically.

If it makes you feel any better I have a gearbox problem with mine resulting in harsh shifting, and now, within the last week, harsh downshifting as well with loud bangs etc, this problem has been dragging on for almost a year now and I still dont see an end in sight yet, I will gladly swap my problem for your bust indicator stalk please :p;):D

Of course the other answer is to have another Landrover to renew your faith in the make. I've got a 1980 Series 3 lightweight, which sits around for weeks on end, starts first time every time, and lets me go off and work off my frustrations with my 1999 Range Rover.

To be fair to the poor guy dj_factor has a lot of things wrong with his Landy, and they just seem to be mounting up week by week, and its hard for him to get on top of it all and sort them out, and it must be costing him a good few ££ as some of the things he has replaced has made no difference, and that as we all know is very annoying when you spend ££ and the problem is still there

Thanks Wills for your help will just check it out now and post up the info. Thanks Dopey for being understanding, well WILLS I have passed by the 3 months barrier now, its my 4th month and my love for Rangies havent depreciated a single bit, I can go on and on about the magnificent car but its just the way it has been made and how it changes itself down the lane. Lets see what i get onto with the indicator thing
