I'm to far away (Lanark) but there are places where you can get the needed parts, D&M in Tain (north of Inverness) and Strathearn Engineering (nerar Perth) spring to mind.
Strathearn are real cowboys and will charge you an arm and a leg, D&M are a better bet, You can get a bus to Fort William and a train to Inverness and a bus to Tain in approx 4 hours.
Call them on 07867596017 - i'm sure they'd be more than happy to help.
Train from Fort William to Inverness??? Only if you change at Glasgow!!!

Just caught up with this thread and so glad you got fixed in Fort William,
For the history buffs--LIX toll was named from the Roman 9th legion. L-1X
This legion is supposed to have marched into Scotland and never seen again.
I may be wrong but i think a marker stone with LIX was found near where the garage is.
The Romans didn.t stop at Carlisle.
here endeth the lesson.

The lesson continues, the Gaelic name for Fort William is An Gearasdan, The Garrison, as troops were stationed there to try and control the local clans.
