Hi lads and lasses..

Wonder if you can help me..

Im in the secondhand Market for a Disco3 but am having a bit of trouble understanding the range..

I want a 2.7TD of course,with 7 seats and Auto..This is a must!..

I understand the HSE has leather seats and a few extras..but the lesser models confuse me..

What is the spec in them?..

I am currently looking at 2 on Autotrader

Autotrader - LAND ROVER Discovery 3 TD=

and this one

Autotrader - LAND ROVER Discovery 3 Automatic=

Sorry about the links...

Im thinking it would be better to go after the 2007 as that seems like a bargain!!..

but am i missing somthing???..

Any help would be great!..

Thanks

Well this'll be easy,

For the Gs Model, which is slightly above normal, have a looky here - Land Rover UK - Discovery TDV6 GS

For The HSE, the full packadge, this one -
Land Rover UK - Discovery HSE

This isnt including optional extra's or other stuff the owners have put on/in

The GS's brand new are nearly £30k, which is a saving of 10 grand and its still under warranty, and i suppose it would have more refinements.

THe HSE is at half its retail of £44k. New tyres, 12 months MOT and full service history makes it also very appealing. Done a fair amount of milage in 4 years

I guess it'd be a case of would you want all that extra stuff, brand new the difference for all that is £14k

Personally i'd go for the 2004 HSE!

Hello,

Ok, firstly the Disco 3 is nothing less than a SUPERB vehicle, especially the auto, it is capable of probably a lot more than you will ever use it for, especially off road !!

The Range consists of 'Base' (don't bother, no air suspension and only 5 seats which will affect the resale value) the S, GS, XS, SE and top spec HSE

Have a look at this link to see the diferences between the various models:-

Land Rover UK - Features and options

Personally I would go for a minimum of a SE or (if I could affrod one a HSE), you get fitted sat nav, cruise control and a whole host of other 'goodies' as standard.

Looking at the 2 you have an eye on, the HSE is definitely a better buy, but seems very cheap so be wary for hidden problems !!

The other one is only a GS, which is a bit under spec, and you'll wish you had the extra's the HSE has as standard.

Anyway, good luck, and when you get one, have a play at the muddy stuff, it's great fun !!!

dagse' oom.

fokken warm vandag, en ek kan nie my lugkoeler gebruik met al hierdie bliksemse elektriese verkortings.

en u? hoe is my ou engelse laatlammetjie vandag?

"hierdie bliksemse elektriese"?

Dagse, Mooi Man.
Ek sal n bietjie dieper ondersoek instel op daardie ene ;)

zo bent u het jongst? u hebt broers en zusters? Ik ben een enig kind.

but, if ya want a REAL LANDY, get a defender :D :D :D
Strangely, that's what the Landrover Experience man said when I went for my free thrash round the quarry (presumably they thought I could afford a Disco 3 and wanted to show it off to me? Strange people). The 3 is a truly awsome vehicle and I WANT one, but the Defender is better off road. Be warned also that the clever electronics on the Disco give you an increased sense of security but can't be a hundred per cent trusted - for example if you put it in "mud" drive it will happily take off at the right speed for a flat track, but it doesn't notice side slopes - panic!

I've never had problems with side slopes in "Mud & Ruts", although I would usually use "Rock Crawl".

From memory, rock crawl would use a lower gear. The side-slope problem was specifically demonstrated to me as something to watch, and when I realised the car was going too fast, yes I was scared!

"Mud & Ruts" and "Rock Crawl" should both start in 1st, although in M&R it will change up earlier, only "Grass/Gravel/Snow" starts in a higher gear.

Just about to buy 2005 TDV6 HSE, 26,000 miles for £26,500. I went for the HSE because hopefully the deprieciation will be better plus I wanted all the toys. Could have had 2006 S model with 16,000 miles and sat nav for same money. I think I've paid around the right price from a main dealer also they gave me good price on my part ex.
Best of luck with the hunt!
