bought a 300tdi on the 18/8/2011 just failed mot on a lot of rust all mounts of body-chassis, all seat belt mounts,all coils,door pillars(advisery),brake master cylinder/servo mounting and front brake discs all rotten(not bad for a landy that has never been off road so they said:mad:).
paid £2300 for it and it has'nt been six months yet.what rights do i have??
 
was it a trade or private sale. If trade yu mite get lucky Try trading std's If private no bloody chance.

Can't believe you didn't crawl underneath it before you bought it??? Surely you didn't think an old Disco would be rust free :confused: And disco's that get offroaded tend to have less rot than school run specials. As their owners usually spend a fair bit of time peering underneath/repairing, Than some fick bint who drives the kids to school in every weather and never washes the salt off it once..
 
That was a big mistake, anyone knows they rot like mad and £2300 what were you thinking, thats way over priced even if it was rot free, should have taken someone with you that knows about landys, just hope it was a trader or you got burned unfortunately sorry!
 
it was trade,wouldnt of had a clue what i was looking at if i did crawl underneath,and couldnt see much rust around door sills archs ect so thought it was ok,
 
not wanting to sound negative mate ,
landy is code for rust :rolleyes: youve been burnt :doh:dont bleat about it either sell it or weld it up , but unless you or a mate can weld it will cost more than it will ever be worth to pay somone ,
good news is they break for good miones
 
Well its repairable i did mine a while back, but if you cant do it, it will cost a fair bit to do, so i would say there are 2 options cut your losses and break it for spares, and use the money to buy a good one you shouldnt pay any more than around 1500 for a really good one or around 800ish for one that may need a small amount of work, or fix the one you have which will probably cost from 500 to infinity
 
take it back ask nicely for ya money

if they refuse let ya foot off the clutch fast and park it on his desk
