Hello people, Im new to this site as ive only had my 90 for the past few
weeks and ive like forgot to top up the clutch fluid so ran the mater cylinder dry (ooops) which means no clutch now. Ive bled the slave cyclinder but not the master, does that need doing too? Ive even reversed bled but still no joy. Theres no leaks but Ive got both new master and slave to put on but when I got round to taking the slave off the pin fell out.. is this meant to happen or do I need to change the gear box aswell now? Any help will be much appreciated as im no mechanic. Ive only managed to do what ive done so far by looking up on youtube :confused:
 
Where is it leaking from? Most likely the clutch mc has had it.

Replace that (if it's that thats leaking, or replace the part that is leaking) then bleed everything. Start at the MC then go bleed the slave cylinder.
 
Either find the leak and fix/repair or replace that part, refill reservoir, bleed master and slave cylinders, may take a few times before you get a good pedal, when bleeding keep an eye on fluid level.

Or

Replace with new cylinders then bleed both.

Seals may have got dry and turned over in cylinder when pedal was pressed.

Slave cylinder rod should just push back in to clutch fork and in slave cylinder, not sure if it has a clip on the fork end or if it just sits in a cup.
 
You shouldn't have to regularly top up a clutch (or brake) reservoir! You have a leak somewhere. If in doubt replace slave and master. Has the "pin" (I presume you mean the operating rod) disappeared into the bellhousing?
 
As I took the slave off the pin that operates the slave just fell out. So now I have the pin. Was rather rusty so I've cleaned that up. Not sure how the pin goes back in is it the clutch fork or sits in a cup? Can't see into the bell housing to check
 
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you're holding the pin in your hand, you'll shortly be separating the engine and gearbox!
 
Great that's all I need. I manage to look into the bellhousing and I did see the cup it sits in so put a new slave on just got the master to do next. Does the clutch pedal come off with the master all in one or is it separate?
