Just wondered if there is any were you guys would recommend where to get one from ? I rang rover .....i know need me brain cell testing , £76 before vat:eek:

It doesn't have an actual housing. The thermostat forms one half of the housing and the water pump is the other half of the housing.

Thanks as always lads
Nodge i didn't realise that, i had a new one fitted some time ago but it is weeping . Tried to nip the nuts up but no joy

Then it is probably the gasket. Was this changed when the stat was changed? Check where it is leaking from. There is also an 'O' ring where the coolant rail fits to the stat. These are known to vapourise over the years!

Only prob with 'O' ring is that you have to take the fixing bolts out of the coolant rail as you can't pull it back enough to get 'O' ring off. Or on for that matter!! When mine leaked from there I took out the bolt by the 'O' ring, forced the rail back and squirted liquid rubber sealant in then clamped it down. It lasted over 2 years then the crank broke! Not connected faults I'm sure .

I expect LR will sell it or measure old one. I decided not to change it as I couldn't get at the coolant rail fixings easily.

50 pence for the O ring and £50 to fit it. :( It's not a good design, but then what would we expect from BMW.

Ty nodge so if i am lucky it might just be a seal :D not know till its taken to bits got to change the fuel pump anyway:(
