Ok so my disco 1 has a LPG system which I'd like to keep. Problem is the huge 90lt cylinder tank in the boot means the fold down seats - don't fold down. (I'm currently replacing boot floor so it's taken out)

Problem is I want the best of both worlds. I want to keep and be able to use the 6th & 7th seats, I want to keep the petrol tank (so I can run both) and I want to keep the LPG so my question is what is my alternatives with regards to a different LPG tank so I can have it all? OR could I remount the tank transverse (longways) so the seats can fold down.? Only issue with that is one end of tank will be right behind back door will it be permitted and if someone smashes into back of me Will I be blown into orbit. What's the options? Has anyone else got around this problem?

Our D2 V8 has twin sill tanks and the full size petrol tank.

You get roughly 48 litres net capacity, so you're range is less than that big tank, but we don't have too much trouble with it, we get between 140 and 180 miles per fill, depending on driving conditions etc.

I always keep the petrol tank over half full, just in case.

As stated you can get twin under slung torpedo tanks, you can also replace the current petrol tank with either a toroidal tank or two torpedo tanks.

There are companies that make a small petrol tank that fits along with the replacement LPG tanks.

Places link Tinleytech or RPI can help.

I have 50 litre under slung and plan to replace the petrol tank with an additional tank to double my range on LPG, it does mean only a small petrol tank but I only use petrol to start the car.

I had the under-sill tanks on my D1 V8 and they were OK but range when towing the caravan was down to 100 miles which wasn't nearly enough.
