set off to work in me disco this morning and pretty quickly noticed a vibration seemed to be from rear but only 5 miles to work so carried on got worse all the way thought probably prop shaft about to let go so put it on ramp when got there checked underneath and no play any where so thought check wheel bearings and there it was nearside rear wheel one nut missing and 4 very loose:eek:

just about stopped shaking by lunch all others were tight and no vibrations yesterday so dont know if iv upset someone or it just worked loose havent checked em since fitted new tyres 3 months ago and been to pay and play day since?

i had that, new wheels and tyres fitted, one month later three wheels loose one ok, initially thought it was the fitters, but it seems you would notice it the next day or so

probably kids thinking its funny, but the locking wheel nut saved mine

Had it on mine a few years back, front nearside wheel came off completely, Disco rolled along on the disc, but I couldn't brake. All good in the end, new discs was all that was needed! Dunno why it happened, wheels not touched for a couple maybe more weeks.

Lucky to get out of it so easily, main road, but I was on a right hand turn, so wheel didn't go into oncoming traffic, but I guess the front vehicles had a sphincter moment or three .. ;)

The people who had my disco before me took it into the garage to have some work done. The mechanic took n/s front wheel off and then realised he was on the wrong side. He put back 1 wheel nut finger tight and forgot about the others.
They drove around a corner and the wheel stud broke, wheel came off and crumpled the wing. They were lucky to only be going slow at the time..
