This is a film from a recent laning weekend we did. Often when you’re trying to navigate from one area to another you spend too much time on tarmac and in this case one of our guys reckoned he had discovered something pretty special between Nant-y-Moch and Machynlleth.

It’s not all thrills and spills but for the sheer variety in terrain this could well be my new favorite route in the area.

Green Lane Route from Nant-y-Moch to Machynlleth in Land Rovers - YouTube

Is this the route that runs from the east of the lake North through the valleys and into the woods/forest? If so, any chance of a pm for the rest of it? I couldn't see a 'proper' Byway or UCR route .. and we're off to Wales in a few weeks time.

It wasn't my route mate but I'll ask the guy that did it to see if he is happy to share

No worries. I can see lots of potentials, but they're interspersed with so many foot and bridle paths, I'd hate to go off-piste .. ;)

Some sections of that looked like a "route to die FROM" valley drop-offs!

That caber were only a little one! :D Ahem. You would not want anything to cause the vehicle to slip to the left - a wheel on a slippery log might well have done that. Good call!

Some really nice lanes there.

Its especially nice when you aren't expecting it. :)

Lovely.

Like the look of that first half looks familiar don't think I've ever driven second half
