Really? I’ve never had any diesel new or old that didn’t smoke a little when laboured a bit.
What are you thinking is wrong with it?
Either too much fuel or not enough air.

I gather that, what I meant is what’s wrong with a bit of smoke?! And it’s not excessive, I think a bit of black smoke is only to be expected until the turbo kicks in properly
Do you recon?
So what is wrong with a bit of black smoke?
As said earlier if chipped a bit can be expected.
You said earlier it shouldn’t do it at all I thought you meant it was going to damage something or cause problems.
Just the once and brandbnew injectors. Mine might be due to fuel pump pressure as it's quite noisy; does mean i can hear the glow plugs come on and off with the current draw changing the pitch of it slightlyLol how many times have you changed your glow plugs and injector seals ?

You should do that for at least 15 seconds anyway every time no matter what for the sake of your engine and turbochargerIf I let it idle for 30 secs before driving away....

mine throws some slight black smoke on take off does this mean mine is chipped ?As said earlier if chipped a bit can be expected.
not to sure if the engine is already up to operation temp in your vid so i cant commentI should think 9 times out 10 I do anyway, but only because I'm still trying to fit myself in!

cold engine i normally tend to watch my boost gauge and stay in low boost for a few minutes or as long as i can untill the engine is up to operating temps
idle shut down is also very important for the turbo we need to bring down the turbo back to idle temps... some install turbo timers i have installed a accumulator tank basically near the same as a turbo saviour but without the filter.... the reason i installed this as i didnt want to idle my engine to long when i get home from a night shift .... also i always try to stay in low boost when iam near my destination (driving style ) some times this cant be acheived just been on full boost only to pull into the 7 11
How does a turbo timer work does it stop you from switching off the engine for a set amount of time?
Also does anyone know the part number for the glow plug relay on td5? Can’t seem to find it anywhere!
glow plugs what glow plugs? i have never used mine so i cant comment mine starts with the flick on the starter motor
maybe an injectorClutching at straws really, it’s probably nothing to do with glowplugs as mine also starts on the button just runs like a bag of s**t. If I let it idle for a while it seems ok, but otherwise it misses and produces white smoke. Strange really.
even if you dont care about the glow plug warning lamp when you start the engine the glow plugs have a "post-heat operation" after the engine was started untill the ECT input gets to 20*C, if it's cold this can take few minutes and beside other things is reducing the carbon build up so no matter how it starts it's a good for the engine to have them all in good working orderglow plugs what glow plugs? i have never used mine....
