Can anyone tell me what the sensor is in picture, the wiring has a socket/connector with a blanking plug in it (not quite visible in photo) it then goes into the ECU box.

When car recently in the local garage mechanic there thought it was some kind of modification but wasn't sure.

think this might be the upgraded fuel rail harness modification, maybe someone who has done it would care to comment
 
Pictured attached, wasn't sure if it was simply to hold the cable away from the pipes below or should be somewhere else?

That's not a standard item on that harness - it's not on either of my Td4s with the replacement harness fitted
 
OK thanks. Will leave it where it is not doing any harm. I just wondered what it was meant to do.

That foam ring is on my replacement harness, it is around the connector on mine which is plugged into the Synergy harness.
