I bought my 2A two years ago and curiosity has finally got the better of me so it's time to ask "why is my tailgate different?" :)

It's got a light green shade of paint under the top(most) coat not found elsewhere on the vehicle so it's come off something else.. But has someone gone to great lengths to put a flat plate over the tailgate (but neatly under the galv sections) for no apparent reason? Or is it off something else? It looks almost too original to be a bodge and if it is a bodge I can't think why they've done it..

That is how it looks flat. I can't imagine why though. I thought I'd post photos in case someone could come along and say oh that's off a such and such..

It is a 2a tailgate with the outside sheeted over to most likely cover damage from being dropped on the ball hitch.

Do you remember that guy who took his car in for repair and it had an extra chassis tube? Turned out to be full of swiss watches, been on there for years.

I had half hour and it finally got the better of me. It's a 2A tailgate underneath with the centre rib missing. There's some damage.. point tottot. :)

(No cash, swiss watches, paracetamol, or hand sanitiser though.. I'm trusting to swarfega anyway..)

How is the centre rib attached? There’s some remnants of rivets on this one but I can’t see rivets in pictures of other 2As.
