Hi All,

No one will probably remember me, but i did introduce myself a couple of years ago with my 300tdi 90!

After twelve months of ownership, my work place relocated and it meant a 40 mile round trip each day, so i opted to sell it and replace with something a little more economical, which i thought was a good decision at the time!

How wrong i was!

After just six months with a brand new fiesta zetec-s i got extremely bored, so got rid to go out and buy this;

Its a 2003 Td5 with 60k on the clock and i love it!!

Reminds me of my TD5 before I started bolting things onto it ..... something to be said for the natural look.

Welcome back! you have got yourself a decent looking defender there, just make sure you have some excellent security on it, like a couple of tigers in the back, and I mean real ones not stuffed ones!:welcome2::tea::tea:

Morning All,

Thank you for the welcome's and comments, much appreciated!

I do have a question to ask regarding a potential issue;

When i first start the engine from cold, and at idle at any temperature, there seems to be a dull vibration coming from somewhere which seems to get worse the longer the engine idles. As soon as i rev the engine the vibration disappears.

Is it likely that this is an early symptom of dmf failure, or am i barking up the wrong tree?

Any comments on this will be appreciated.

Does the vibration return when the revs drop or go away completely?
