Just got it running somewhere about right so taxed it yesterday and insured it. Thought I'd take it down the work shop and set the gas up as I thought it was running lean. Anyway got it on the ramp and the gas analyser on it when I heard a crackling sound. Looked under the bonnet to find it well and truly alight! Anyway after alot of bad language, 3 extinguishers and four cans of water it was out! Turns out a transmission pipe has blown and sprayed oil onto the very hot exhaust. Gonna wash it off tomorrow and see what damage has been done. Didn't look to bad tonight but coil pack area got hot. To say I panicked was an under statement! It was the gas pipe that was on the middle of it all that was the worry. Well atleast I'm still here and so is the car.

You been there too?

No i have a diesel the safe one. But there was a thread about Rangies setting alight. I said more likely to be a petrol or gas one than a diesel. Some disagreed seems i may have had a point.:):):)
