Just bought from eBay. Have driven it precisely 2/3rds of a mile from previous owner to MOT. It failed miserably on brakes, having been sat for a couple of years doing nowt. Hopefully I'll get it on Wednesday, take it home and start tarting her up!

Not sure where the propellor goes ;)

The entire interior needs to come out; that box and those two seats will not be going back in.

Welcome to the world of old Landies. Is that really a 1969? It has series 2 front and series 3 bulkhead. A lot of later ones are made as lookalikes to gain tax exemption.

divie: V5C says 1969, so I hope so!

onecelledcreature: Badge is yours if you want, just pm your address.

samc88: Chassis and bodywork seems good, once the brakes are done and the MOT passed I can get my free tax and drive it home. No idea whats in the box!

Who knows what mysterys lie within the box. Are you keeping the old AA badge?

someone has spent a lot of money replacing the seats, they are in way better condition than most defenders. The second row ones are the nuts, i'm jealous!

If you r removing the flip up seats put em on ebay they sell well. The propellor is the viscous fan that should be at the front of the engine, have a look under the bonnet and see if its missing or if an electric fan has been fitted. Otherwise best put it back on:D

Looks like a great landy. Is the box a home made fridge? Keep postin pics to make us all jealous:rolleyes:

Yesterday it drove 185 miles with no problems (once I'd worked out this new fangled overdrive thing). Today it went a grand total of 1 mile. In 6 stages. The fuel priming pump has perished and was letting air into the system. I've bypassed it and will get a replacement tomorrow. However the engine now stalls whenever I brake and doesn't sound good restarting. Oh well, see what tomorrow brings.

Still working on the fuel issue. I suspect I'm going to have to drain the system. In the meantime I've ripped out all the crap and de-badged the front. I'll pop those badges in the post probably tomorrow. I filled 6 bin bags with crap. Next step will be to remove the seats (which I don't like - but will stay unless I find some better/ more original ones). Then I'll wash out the back (it needs it) and see how bad the interior metalwork is.

The doors are a little bit rusty; I've screwdrivered them, next I'll wire brush, then kurust and metal putty - I think they're salvageable.

The winch works! I found the remote and it worked straight off. the cable seems to be wrapped round itself after the first few feet but I'm sure that's fixable. I won't be keeping the winch anyway.

Layers of paint.... It's currently red, previously blue, previously limestone, originally bronze green, which is nice, as it's going to be green again, but NATO green, probably with 20% black in to match the original shade at least.

Don't know if I'm going to keep the roof rack yet; can't see me using it.

I'll take pictures later today.
