hmm i will have to deal with some bolts for under seats... :doh:
and will have to buy waterproof LR seat covers (lovely)
i couldn't fit in the car with the original seats:doh:
instead of cutting the metal profile behind the seat i changed the seats

Look alright... Went for Disco 1 seats myself.
For under seat storage i cut a hole in the front of the seat box. Works fine! Though it's about to become a battery tray box thing
You are right bbut I was in a rush to the office while the photo was taken

I can take one, though it all looks rather bare at present as floors and seats are out (part of the 200tdi conversion)
It's nothing fancy, i literally took a grinder to it. Was going to make a hatch... but never got round to it.
There are companies who make side access, i.e. a hatch which opens into the door opening space for getting under seat access. Its quite neat if you have money to spend (not sure on price, but it will be more expensive than angle grinding a hole!)

Hmm i'd prefer DIY on it
cut it and place a metal cover with a hinge
or a fabric cover using velcro

I'd be a little wary of choppin the seat box about too much......having taken mine out along with the floor its a little difficult to tell whats supporting what......still anythings got to be better than cutting out the bulkhead behind the seats! :doh:
As said, i just cut a hole! Not had any structural issues and it gets some SERIOUS abuse!
Though the floor has rotted away a bit, but as i'm about to put a battery tray in its of no major concern.
Jamie - if you were referring to having the series1 or 2 style of filling direct into tank under seat then you can't do this with fixed seats. To get around this you could put a S3 or Defender tank and filler pipe in. This would allow you to then fasten a seat down permanently.
To do that you drop the tank out, bolt the seat down, put the tank back. It's very easy to do.
