I picked this up today for £470 its been sitting for a year as soon as I connected to a battery the wipers and washers were stuck and won't turn off and the rear passenger window went halfway down and won't go back up,

It does have a diesel leak above the tank someone has said it will be between the pipes above it when loading onto the trailer it struggled to pull itself up the small incline could this be due the fuel leak

I was planing on taking out the becm and using contact cleaner to see if that sorts the issue or am
I wasting my time doing it
 
Ideally you need to get fault codes read first.
Gut says not becm, check closer to the problem.. but I'm no expert in that field
 
If its been stood, It could be a mixture of so many things. Start with the basics.
Is it damp inside on the carpets? Fuse box? Take the drivers door card off and have a look at the door lock switches (guide available on here)
The window could easily be the window channels need clean and lube.
But I would expect cleaning of connectors on many things is in your future.

I feel you are going to get acquainted with a DMM. and probably many more problems on your journey. But its all doable with help on here.

Stick a dehumidifier inside to make sure its not damp upsetting things, sort out the fuel leak at the tank and if you are dropping the tank to sort that have a look at the rear brake lines as the rust and are a lot easier to change with the tank out.
 
First step, check the battery voltage. The as others have said, check under the carpet n the drivers foot well for damp. Sniff the under bonnet fuse box for evidence of burning. I wouldn't touch the BECM at this stage.

Hi mate what should the voltage be? I did use my working van battery when going to collect it what is fully working, i think I’m going to need to take the becm out anyway as I can’t get the window up and here in scotland we have 4 seasons in one day,

yeah it will polish up nicely bodywork looks really good tbh just hope i can get it sorted

battery voltage should be 12.6v when not under load
as for window it could be the window pack playing up or even a sticky motor in the door

You seem to have a death wish with the BECM. It is unlikely to be the cause of your window problem. Connector problems at the BECM maybe, but more often the problem is nearer the window. I take you have tried both switches?

Yeah I’ve tried both switches as soon as the battery connected it went down and wipers and washer’s wouldn’t turn off as soon i put the battery back on they all go off also the fuel cap lock, is there a fuse for the washer and fuel cap lock as they will burn themself out

OK, with so many things happening, it could well be condensation in the BECM. So you may be right, the BECM may need to come out, but first you need to get the interior dry. When you remove the BECM, thake the cover off and check for condensation and corrosion on the tracks. If it is wet, the best way to dry it out is a couple of days in a warm airing cupboard. Failing that, a hairdryer on a low setting can be used but great care is needed not to apply too much heat.

the rear & front carpets on the drivers side are soaking wet i lifted them up and I’m shocked the harness channel is all rusty i think its beyond repair imo, also there is a diesel leak at the front of the engine and looking at the FIP it look’s covered in diesel and oil, drivers front sil has been repaired and i think thats where water is getting in (bad repair ), passenger side is perfect, ill ad in few pictures

Water leaks are common, drying the car out with a dehumidifier will cure a multitude of electronic problems. The diesels leaks are also common, often just leak off pipes need replacing, otherwise the O rings on the FIP, both pretty easy jobs to DIY and not expensive.

so not as bad as it looks? I struggled to get the seat off as I didn’t have big allen key
