Hey fella's.
I used to own a red D2 named Betsy V8 on lpg.
sadly she is gone now and bought a TD5.. bog standard.
First thing i did.. fitting a snorkel and making the air system waterproof.
Followed by lights, lift, big tyres and wheels, egr delete, straight through exhaust mapped you know the deal..
wanted to share some pic's as to how far the D2 has come until now.
hope you enjoy!

Share some pictures I'm looking for some inspiration I have just purchased some mud tyres for mine got to get them fitted tho.

I had same trouble.
Site has been playing up. But seems mended now, more or less, so why not have another try?;)

Pics or it didn't happen... you got a Freelander. lol
not anymore lol.. nor my betsy V8
try uploading again lol so from standard to current.. just need a few things.. like wading kit and inside draws and such IMG_20191102_160236.jpg IMG_20191226_144131.jpg IMG_20191229_135802.jpg IMG_20191229_145335.jpg IMG_20200101_130233.jpg IMG_20200101_132938.jpg IMG_20200110_134944.jpg IMG_20200111_145010.jpg

A cheap Ebay one.. yes they are cheap.. but not recommended.. poor template and poor fit!

spent a whole weekend trying to get one of those to fit my td5.
Can’t beat the feeling once you have cut holes in the wing according to their ‘template’ fit it and find that the door catches on it. Gave me the right hump.

The template was out by almost inch and a half compared to the hole in the inner wingand facing too far upwards towards the windscreen had to move the whole snorkel back by inch and a half so it would line up.. nightmare.. lookst like bulletholes behind the snorkel and had to cut the snorkel to fit too.. next time a southdown lol

Yep you are right, mine was about that too far forward from the air intake too. In the end I just cut the end off the snorkel intake and bolted it on and had done with it I was that fecked off...

Exactly.. also had the problem that the snorkel it self was bent as in 2 ways so had to fit front of snorkel then push the back in and then bend it upwards as it was like a banana.. once fitted.. it heated it up with a heat gun and it was ok then.. never again lol.. buy cheap.. pay the price i guess and lots of people also forget that even with snorkel fitted that the rest of the air intake system is not waterproof lol.. that took me another day to get sorted.

Whats additionally involved with waterproofing the air intake system...
after fitting the snorkel take airbox out.. easier to seal inside the innerwing.. then seal every joint/hole in the airbox.. specially the drain plug in the bottom.. as they dry out and stay open thus sucking in water causing hydrolocked engine.. the joints between the flexihose and inner wing and box.. flexi hose also breathes so needs to be made watertight.. sealent on joint between maf and hoses and breathers.. airbox lid also lets in water if not sealed.. i can go on lol and lest we forget the ECU which is in a stupid place..you get the idea:D
